About Long Prairie Community Group
Our Mission is to celebrate the City of Long Prairie and its community of people. The LPCG shall also strive to lessen the burden on local government, prevent deterioration of the community, promote social progress by encouraging civic participation and provide scholarships for community high school students pursuing higher education. Prairie Fest is put on by the Long Prairie Community Group and is a 501©3 non-profit organization.
Prairie Fest
Prairie Fest is an event held every year on Father's Day weekend in Long Prairie. The event includes a midway, grandstand events, live music events, as well as other events for the whole family. This event is put on entirely by a volunteer group and our sponsors. Please make sure to thank the businesses that sponsor us, withouth their support - we would not be able to do this.
College Scholarships.
- The Miss Prairie Fest pageants in 2008 & 2009 were our first place to bestow college scholarships to local Junior and Seniors.
- In 2010 we changed the pageant to a Scholarship Challenge. This way we were able to allow the young men in our community an opportunity to win a college scholarship as well.
